Well, compared to the establishment of the punk scene back then, punk is definitely lacking nowadays. What you have a lot of in modern day "punk" is a lot of mall punk or pop punk like The Ataris and all the crap on MTV. There are still a few banRAB and labels out there with true punk on them...
