I have to agree, I liked that Jez being gay was treated as a normal, accepted part of him rather than the basis for his whole character/storyline. I would have hated them to have gone down the road of his dad and best friend (or at least the person he seems to get on with the most in Britannia...

It's great to have something which hasn't been dumbed down for the masses by silly jingles and the questioner trying to raise some fake tension by telling people what will happen if they get this question wrong. Well done BBC4!

Although I did speculate this was to be a coming out episode it was much better than that would have been. Jez felt like a modern gay character - why would he feel the need to keep being gay secret in 2008, especially when he studies performing arts?! Congrats must go to the producers for coming...
