    The Beatles

John Lennon, Beatlemania began England in the autumn of 1962 when the Beatles released Love me Do . The Beatles made their first ever TV appearance on October 17th. 1962 in Manchester. 'Please Please Me' was released...

Anyone else notice how completely retarded and biased Metacritic is?

If you average the nurabers together it comes to 75.751. If they round up to the nearest 10 it would be 80. This would be a fair way to do it if they did it for all their averages, but they don't. In fact I decided to click a random album to see what the average review is according to them and...

    The Official Green Day Thread

well, I think they're good and I must admit I like their older albums better in terms of music but American Idiot I thought was amazing especially for their first opera. They may not be punk or whatever but, its not really like they're calling themselves that *cough cough Avril* and I...

    The Saddest Songs Ever

Well, it depenRAB on how you define sad. Two of De Andre's songs that can be described as sad springs to mind, but they are totally different as far as sadness is concerned. "Guerra di Piero" is a cold, almost cynical take on solitary death and regret, while "Sidun", (which is sung in Genoese)...

    Albums You're Digging II

I have but I just prefer Songs About Fucking. I think it's because I just have more history with it. Either way both are the shit.

    Bizzare??

possibly the weirdest band i have in my library are Butthole Surfers. i'm pretty sure most of you heard of them, but recently i got a hold of most of their discography(a whopping 15 albums!), and listened through it ALL. in the end i confirmed that while they can make good catchy and rocking...

Ani-Monday Feb. & Mar. Schedules (Gundam 00, Gurren Lagann, Rave Master & More)

Rave Master on Sci Fi? Weak. Their are so many better quality properties that they could acquire, that this action is just filled with fail. I suspect that Tokyopop might be having more difficult cash-flow issues with the Bush-Depression economic environment. They probably sold the TV rights...

    The White Stripes

well, judging by "favourite CD", id imagine only one vote is suitable. ive gone with elephant. i love all of them, but for me elephant has just that bit more class to it. de stijl is definetly second. followed by white blood cells.

    Best Scottish Band/Artist? (Poll)

Out of that lot, Primal Scream get my vote. Aztec Camera, Josef K, Orange Juice and the Fire Engines are well worth checking out if you haven't already. Classic Scottish post-punk there (except Aztec Camera - they're a bit more power pop than post-punk... kinda).

    Arcturus - La Masquerade Infernale

You say you rushed this review!?!? Well in my own estimation, it's pretty comprehensive break down of the album. Arcturus as a whole deserve props (along with Dimmu Borgir) for breaking the mold within black metal by introducing differently-styled vocals and by adding a whole host of other...

An Infinite Number Of Things That Pisses Me Off About Music

CCR was great. They're not Southern rock, either, though. They're from Oakland, California! Okay, so maybe style is what counts, but I think of them more as Americana...like Violent Femmes or the Doobie Brothers, it was really a corabination of American folk, country and rock.

What kind of music do thing 60's musicans would have made on ecstasy?

"See, I think drugs have done some good things for us, I really do, and if you don't believe drugs have done good things for us, do me a favor. Go home tonight and take all your albums, all your tapes, and all your CRAB and burn 'em. Cause you know what? The musicians who made all that great...
