Is this the Melissa George film or the Catherine Bell TV mini series? I liked both.

I agree to some extent - very much a film of its time that's aged fairly badly. Seem to remember it being genius at the time, but when I sat down to watch it a few weeks back I found it too cringeworthingly bad to make it more than half an hour before turning it off...

The Others was a 12A when it was released and is also quite a good film. The Village has a few jump moments but might be a bit too complicated for 10 year olRAB. I'd recommend either of those two or perhaps something like Gremlins or The Goonies which have their scary moments.
