Well...I don't think this movie doing well is going to strike a blow to 3-D or anything. And it probably won't do much for 2-D. It's doing well has nothing to do with the way it's animated. It's the Simpsons, and the film is being marketed like crazy. I'm glad it's doing well, though.

Yep, as late as the 1990's, there was still TONS of merchandise around, a good 30 years after the show ended. I'm sure it will be the same with The Simpsons (especially since, at this point, the Simpsons is arguably an even more important part of pop culture than The Flintstones ever was).
