I have a 2001 Santa Cruz bullit. One the swingarm there are 2 little post sticking up in the middle of the arm. What are these for? This bike has disk brakes.

I planning a trip before winter and want to hike from auburn, ca to reno, nv. Does anyone know of trails to might connect the two. I'm sure I'll have to jump around trail to trail. Any ideas. Alls I have so far is starting in forest hill area for trails and also part of the rim trail in tahoe...
