try cleaning out the fuel lines and injectors for the cylnder or all that are mis-firing. this should do the trick. also rev it up real high but just below the redline. like one 500 RPM below and see if it still does. if not it maybe a fuel pump problem. sheck this out too.

okay i have an old r-12 air conditioning compressor and it wont turn on. i have the system charged but i dont know why the compressor wont turn on anymore. if anyone knows of someone or somewhere i could buy a new or used compressor that works that would be a great thing. or any advice

it sounds to me that the way you described it that there'ss a combination of things wrong. First since you said it went from 70 to 0 quick, you've got a major transmission problem. now the other thing it could be is that thethrottle body of you engine is stuck and the random rev is your computer...
