I am having difficulty understanding why these two models are being produced at the same time. They seem to be the same size, have the same main processor and GPU hardware, and same screen resolution. What exactly is the difference?

i see what you mean, the problem with that is probably that they didn't consider that to be a big deal. tbh, i don't think i know of anyone but you that disliked it. i'm pretty sure they did that for the 5xxx was because the battery was so miniscule. barely lasts like 8 hours. the n95 8gb lasted...

Out of warranty? When did you get your N8, as far as I know there is a 12 months warranty? My wife got a refurbished X6 after she tore off the side slide lock and that phone was purchased in March 2010.

Haven't seen or heard this mentioned or talked about ANYWHERE even after google searching and looking at a bunch of video game forums... I'm not very far into the game because I do mostly side missions, like I finished all of the brucie "Steal me this car" missions right away, etc, I'm still...

Uncharted 2 and The Last Guardian are making me consider selling my xbox 360 for a ps3...along with the new castlevania. this is OT though :p I agree there's a LOT coming out this summer alone.

My guess is v50 is the last firmware. Also keep in mind it won't support apps for the new OS being released next year, so other than warranty don't expect much support. v50 has added many things that weren't in the phone originally. If it's in your budget, it's a good little phone.

I'm pretty well sold on the Nokia N9 at this point - it looks like it's going to be a little chunky but I love how Nokia is committing themselves to openness. That said, this'd be my first proper cell phone and I've heard a lot of scary things about reprehensible behaviors of the companies...

I'll have to check the API again but I believe the 5 usable space are limit... you don't have to use all the real estate, though.
