I currently have the htc aria phone with froyo. There is a new system called the gingebread version 2.3, but i do not know how or where i can update it. Does anyone know any info on the gingerbread?

My unlocked phone recently got stolen and i wanted to get a new one for free with att's 2 yr contract. what happens if my phone gets stolen while im still on att's 2 yr contract?
