there are things like ovulation tests, but besides that there isnt really a way to tell other than a full clinic workup.

I was watching my aunt's cat this week, and he was lost for 3 days. I had given up hope, until he was found in a drawer (one that is never used. it is still a mystery). 4 days without food, but he is just fine. As long as food is there and plenty of water the cat should be ok as long as it is...
