    What kind of bottom do I put in my newly built 4'x2' redwood garden planter for my...

    ...deck? It is 18" high.? Newly assembled and ready to add plants and compost/dirt mixture, but I don't know what kind of bottom to put in it if a bottom at all. Does the water have to drain out completely? Plastic, no plastic? Will the wood rot?
