    If you attempt to shoot in your opponent's court, would the shot clock reset?

    For example your opponent tap the ball to the their court and i get the ball with 3 seconds left on the shot clock. Can I attempt to shoot the ball it in their court (but not really making it) just to reset the shot clock.
