I'd say that the destruction of land for crops and space to keep these animals are a direct result from raising such a high amount of livestock for meat. they're both destructive. but the thing you can do is stop the consumption of meat and there wont be as much ruining of land which is hurting...

example: broccoli, love it crispy, hate it mushy. well one reason why it should be a bit crispy is because it retains the vitamins and nutrients it offers (raw is even better), but cooking it until mushy leaves only traces of it. another reason is texture, mushiness when it comes to vegetables...
