i recently bought a new fuel filter for my ranger and when i started to change it i noticed a quick connect well i went and got a quick connect for ford that has 4 but it doesn't fit should i go get another one or should i go take it somewhere to get it changed if so how much is it to get it changed

i have a 1997 ford ranger 4.0 liter 6 cylinder and was wondering if anyone knew the stock exhaust pipe size
