It sounds like one lifter is clicking, but saw an answer here that claimed a rod bearing could sound the same. How do I determine which it is? I haven't put a stethoscope to it, but sounds like the clicking is coming from the valve cover area.

On the petcock when the knob is up it is in RES. When turned to the right it says PRI. Straight down is in ON. Does PRI stand for primary or prime? I have heard that if left in the wrong position gas could flow freely even when off and cause damage. Thanks km9cm2e for the answer, but which...
