    blackberry without data plan?!?

    is it at all possible to buy the blackberry phone for at&t without the data plan? i just love the look and feel of the phone...but i do not need the data plan. the at&t people at the store said it was necessary...but are they just saying that because they have to, can I find a way around it...

    is a data plan absolutely REQUIRED for blackberries at&t service?

    I'm ready to upgrade my phone and I want a blackberry. I have AT&T. They say that it is required to pay $30 each month for a data plan. Is there any way I can cancel this data plan once I buy the phone with the plan? Please help, I do not want the data plan further on!
