That's crazy buy the pump and fan clutch if you need to and do it yourself. If the fan is loose see where the play or slack is and fix it. Id change them both for good measure if you have the cash. Go for it that's not to bad of a job.

Blown head gasket. Don't drive it until you have it pressure tested by a mechanic. It shouldn't cost much for the test. The repair wont be cheap.
