Considering my short life span so far, it really does seem that a vast majority of human advancements over the past 20 years have been entirely technological. Is this really a good thing? In some ways it is: medical technology has improved, etc.

I liked it, but it wasn't as good as previous seasons. Too much of the same things - Dex almost gets caught, Deb almost finds him out, he encounters a new "evil serial killer", etc. I wish Deb would have found him this time and the show would have taken a different direction next season.
You try for a "catch" at the end, but it is really too general to spark a lot of interest. "An eerie and sinister secret" could be so many things, that I'm not sold yet. Give some more detail here, be more specific.

Yes, in our modern society I do in fact feel this way. The routine of what it takes to own a home and work a job to pay for it and raise a family is the "bowl". The "water" is the need for our money in this society. Like the fish, I could jump out of the bowl, but it would probably feel like it...
