    sound is not working in windows media player?

    hi anybody please help me..i have a problem with my windows media player.when i put cd,it shows unknown dvd and the picture will come but the sound is not working.if the same cd i put in dvd player connected to TV,it will work with the sound.if i play some saved music or video,it will work properly
