The thing is I was watching a video on youtube and the image is alot clearer than it is on myn. Is there anything I can do to make it clearer? Whats hdmi? Whats hdmi?

Ok I just realised I have two cables. The one i just found has red,yellow,white,green, blue and another red cable. So i flicked it to hdtv and plugged it in but all I get is a blue screen? The tv is not hd but there's a hd tv in the living room.
