I will give the E71 a pretty serious look once it is released. Especially if it beats the Bold to market. I have yet to have great success with BB connect, which would be my major concern. Both times I had used in WM devices, so I hoping the E71 can integrate better with BB Connect.

You've done everything short of a hard reset that I would suggest. Since the error appears to be tied to the preferences file....my only suggestion would be to clear everything off by doing a hard reset and selectively restore but that's what I'd do. You may wish to contact P1 tech support...
