I'm so glad the OC ended when it did too. The finale was really perfect imo. Minus the lack of Marissa. But there were emotional enough scenes with her in the season 3 finale when she was going to leave.

Chinese students are doing that en masse right now. They seek university level education abroad in North America, Aus/NZ and Europe, then they take everything they learned back home. At least they pay good money to our schools for it instead of siphoning off our tax money.

Don't get me wrong, the show poked fun at pop cultures during its early seasons. For example, the slang (Bart's phrases), Michael Jackson was referenced a bunch of times, hell they made a lot of references of the past such as Citizen Kane, The Twilight Zone, King Kong/Godzilla, Nightmare on Elm...

I graduated may 2008, in the heart of the bust and found a job that made 55k my first year out with ZERO related work experience. Sucks for the faggots that wasted their times with bullshit degrees.
