    More chick lit than cozy, but you could try Gemma Halliday's "In High Heels" mysteries. She's got a great, funny voice and they're just fun to read.

    By non-novel, I assume you mean short story writers or poets? For short stories, you could read Edgar Allan Poe, O. Henry, Ernest Hemingway, or if you really want to stretch, Jorge Luis Borges. I'm afraid I'm not too familiar with poets, though.

    A first time author with their debut novel about a girl and her body odor issues? Or Dan Brown? Nora Roberts? John Grisham? There's quite a discrepancy between the two, I'm afraid, so there's no possible way to give an accurate answer to your question.
