    purple vein in my neck?

    im a 16 year old girl and i have strept throat and the flu right now so this might have something to do with it. My vein on the left side of my neck is kindof a light purplish color now? im kindof nervous.. my dad says its nothing (hes not a doctor or anything).. but im kindof scared.
