Is it a 175gram Discraft ULTRA STAR?

I'm about to get a new phone, and the HTC Eris is one of my top choices. However, people have complained about it not having Android 2.0. Now that Android 2.0.1 was released on the 11th, will a HTC Eris come with Android 2.0? If so, does anyone know if it actually increases battery life? Thanks!
