    How to garden in the Sims 3?

    I know how to get seeds and such, I just don't know how to start gardening. I went into my sim's inventory and clicked my seed. I chose "Plant" and placed it in my garden. So...it just laid on the ground as a seed. I tried to get my sim to ACTUALLY plant it, but the only option is "Pick up."...
