Is the American high school u attend really like what we see in the movies?? Really stereotypical groups - e.g popular kids, nerds, asians, druggies? Cafeterias, yellow school buses, lockers? Prom, homecoming?

I just uploadded Sims2 University to my Sims2. I dont know how to work it, Like i have my person and everything but then it says they have class in one hour ? how do they get to class ? what is class? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks :)
