    If I wrote a horror film script similar to another film?

    could I be sued for copyright or something? It's not like I'm remaking or ripping off the plot the movie, it's just I had an idea but it's quite similar to another film. There are tons of Halloween/Friday the 13th-like movies and I haven't heard of any of the writers being sued. Just wondering.
