I tried restoring to factory settings and software upgrading (the update service says my phone is at the latest version). What the hell is happening to this damn phone?! Please do help.

The phone's abysmally slow and I'm finding out if updating this will be worth it. Will it speed up the phone at least? And what other features will come up if I update? Thanks.
