I just swipe my index finger down across the exposed area of the SIM and it comes out very easily. I'm not sure how anyone can be having this kind of problem. It's actually move of an ordeal to get the SIM in and out of my N95-4 with the hokey SIM holder.
Someone pointed out an app over on symbian-freak called powerboot. It will let you autostart the KeyMapDaemon that is needed for MagicKey to start working on boot.
This works for me.
It is apparently also possible to autostart apps using JbakTaskMan, but I didn't try that way.
