The first 5-8 episodes were pretty damned good IMHO. After Zhalia betrayed the Huntik Foundation, I stopped watching it because the pacing felt so horrible. It started feeling like it was an 80s series. Is it still that bad?

Why don't any cartoons today use the Dry Brush effect (smearing) for rapid movement? The technique was commonly used during the Golden Age and was used until the mid 1990's. Is there a reason why animators don't use it anymore?
