Would you ever do anything like snatch a childs plastic whistle out of their...

...hands and smash it with your boot? Your own child, that is. I wouldn't really. Promise. But next time she puts it down, I am going to have a little whistle funeral.

Have you known someone who changes the topic (in light conversation)constantly

to what THEY want to talk about? This is actually a serious question. I have come across people who try change the topic whenever I talk to them (no matter what the topic I bring up is). I am not boring. I am actually a pretty good conversationalist and empathetic to what another might find...

Does anyone here do guerilla gardening (planting stuff illegally around the city in

unused spaces)? I have always enjoyed doing this. It is fun to do with kids too. In the summer I always have some seeds with me and a little gardening shovel to turn the soil. I throw the shovel under the stroller. I carry the seeds in my pocket. If I planted some little stuff I carry a water...

Do you rent a little garden plot in the city if you live there? Is it expensive?

There are lots of these little mini garden plots that you can rent in the big city. They are usually made by non profits that want to set up something nice in an abandoned lot. Have you seen these. Do you use them to do stuff with your kids? Do you like it?

What is the strangest quirk your SO has?

Mine is obsessed with mirrors. Like a little kid is. She loves looking at herself. It is odd. Not necessarily vanity. More like enjoyment with mirrors.

What are whine free activities to do with 2 kids (1 and 3) that don't want to share?

I have a few. Dancing, book reading, hide and seek, building blanket forts, playing ball. Got any more? Basically, when they get fussy they fight over every toy or object. Just looking for ideas.

My kids whine and cry whenever my wife is around. Why?

My wife is a great mom. I am stumped. She seems to be doing everything I do with the kids. But whenever I have the kids alone they never whine and cry. As soon as my wife walks in the door the whining starts. It isn't like this all the time but often. I was trying to figure out how the...

Are you as sick as your kids. Mine started daycare and we are all sick all the time?

My daughter started daycare and is sick about 80% of the time now. That goes for the baby and also for me. I am the Dad. My wife hardly ever gets sick. I don't get it. She is SAHM for the baby. I am starting to think I need to cut back a little on my stress. I have kids in the morning then work...

My wife is a SAHM and constantly complains. We argue a lot. Got advice?

I know being a SAHM is totally exhausting (mentally and physically), frustrating, and all around a totally intense job. I work all day. My job is also all of the above. I love my job sometimes but mostly it is unbelievably draining too. Here is my day: I wake up with the kids and my wife and I...

I teach at a university in a foreign country. At staff meetings they don't speak ANY...

...english. Is this weird? I am from the USA. I know at first glance you might say "Why would they speak english? Why don't you learn their language if you have a problem?" But hear me out. I am a prof at a design school. There are about 7 other people in the department that are present at our...

What would you do in this situation? My wife is angry.?

This is kind of a petty question. Sorry. This morning my wife wanted to take our daughter to the mall. I told her I would go downstairs and scrape the snow and ice off the car for her while she got ready. I would meet her down there. We live in apartments and the car was a few blocks away. She...
