I have a 6.8L V10 Ford F-250 4x4 and I've been "hot roddin" it around a bit lately and now at about 1700 RPM it starts to make a noticeable odd vibration rattling type sound and continues on until about 2000 RPM then goes away when it shifts. Also when I let off the gas it immediately shifts...

I would like to dump the exhaust on my 6.8L V10 F-250 in hope of mpg increase and just to simply hear the grumble of the V10. Should I dump the Catalytic converter, or keep it on? What would be the ups and downs of this?
