my 96 dodge intrepid keeps on dying.... ill be driving and when i go to push my brake itll just die , everything else runs good , just seems like when it gets below 1rpm it dies.... any suggestions on what the problem would be?

i just got home from basic training.. im a split option soldier which means i have to come back anddo my senior yr of highschool... my girlfriend is pregnent and i cant go to school and rasie a kid.. what would happen as far as my army career is concerned if i dropped outta highschool
