When ever i plug my iPhone 4 into my mac, iTunes never recognises it. I've tried multiple cords too. But when i turn my iPhone off, and then plug it in, iTunes turns it back on then nothing happens WHY? HELP?!!

My iPhone won't connect to iTunes or any other program on my computer when ever i plug it in. i've tried 4 different other cords but none of them work. i've tried to clean out the part where you put the cord too on the phone. HELP

My iPhone 4 won't connect to iTunes whenever i plug it into my computer using the apple cord. i've tried four different cords and none of them work. It won't connect to iPhoto either. Would should i do?
