Economy" in ....? her book "The All-True Travels and Adventures of Liddie Newton"? I know sections of Beecher's book are used at the beginning of each chapter of Smiley's book. Was this used as a guidline for Liddie? Maybe how she should react or behave in the situation given in each chapter?
