Last month I split my radius, 4cm down right from the head and now my arm is being held together with screws. I have lost 30 degrees of movement in my elbow and for the moment I can't bear too much load on it.

I'd do some research; a car of that make and vintage may have difficulty sourcing parts if it breaks down. The MX-6 also had four wheel steering (at least in Australia) and could prove costly to repair.
Honda prelude fits the bill, not as much power as your other picks but it is a brilliant drive and should deliver respectable economy. You should be able to pick one up relatively cheap as well.
