There are miles of trails in Griffith Park. You can start by the ranger station, the zoo, the Observatory, or any one of a dozen places. Eaton Canyon has some great hikes. So does Runyon Canyon. And there are many trailheads in Angeles National Forest off Angeles Crest Highway.
