ithaca's gorges are apparantly great but i've actually never been there...since you have up to 5 hours you can go anyhwere in the adirondacks---lake placid, lake goerge, old forge, etc...

good luck finding seclusion on labor day weekend--thats when people who DONT camp actually go camping....you could find some seclusion in the adirondacks but thats way more than an hour from rochester--- anywhere near rochester (lecthworth state park, watkins glen state park, allegheny park)...
