    Is it necessary to have an immigration lawyer in order to get a K-3 visa?

    I'm happily married to a US citizen. I'd rather not spend the $3500 on a lawyer if I can help it. I don't mind filling out forms and so forth. How long will it take without a lawyer? With? I'm still in the US on a student visa that has not run out yet. Also, I have invested in a US business.
