    Possibly the high beam/low beam switch? When you pull back the turn signal lever does it turn on the high beams at all?

    Probably air stuck in the system. Was it purged correctly? When replacing the coolant you have to get the air out by running the motor with the radiator cap off until you see it purge a bunch of air out. Once it stops shooting out air bubbles you refill it, put the cap back on, let it cool, and...

    switch from a manual trans to auto in 1988 ford F-150?

    Steering column from an automatic truck, ECU from an automatic truck (if EFI), and probably the driveshaft from the automatic truck. Frankly, not worth it. The autos fail too easily anyways. Just find someone to rebuilt it or look further away for a standard.

    Yeah, new transmission. These cars possibly have the worst transmissions ever built. My friend had one that was rebuilt 3 times in 1 year.
