Iam thinking of going hiking South West of greymouth would it be possible because my parents dont think so.. ?

Worth of food,water,clothes,tent,sleeping,bag e.tc. i am atm training up my back with carrying a backpack worth of 12 kg atm at least ? But i will go hiking around the 10th of february so i have time enough to get into shape !

The 5th of february iam going to new zealand and iam going hiking / tramping iam just asking for some tips right now of what to do / bring with me / think about while hiking ..I am probably not going to go on many trails e.tc. i will just walk South West and see where i end up :P

Iam going hiking in New zealand in about 4 months give or take. But later after i have hiked in NZ where is a good place to go afterwards ?

If lets say i start hiking from the south island of nz all the way to the top of the north island how long would it take to walk the entire way ? "Give Or Take"

Which is the best gps u can buy for hiking in europe i would obiously need a detailed gps map. But which one is the best to bring garmin suggested the oregon 400t but iam not so sure about it ?! i dont want to buy maps for the gps that cost a fortune so if there is a gps that comes with a...

And by that i mean just without a map i would of course bring a compass so i dont go the wrong way :P

For example i weigh 77kg so lets say i can carry a packing of about 20kg more or less. And i would be bringing freeze dried food with me. So if i pack on about 20kg of water , food ,gear ,e.tc. how long give or take will it last ?

Ok so people who go hiking are in need of water they need water to live but if you go hiking in europe how can u find water every other day to help you survive ? What are the odd's of surviving in spain while hiking and u can carry with water enough for 2 days how do u find the water u need ?

Ok so before i was thinking of bringing a gps with me with maps of europe but they only show basemaps and i need detailed maps. So gps is out of the question. However in other cases if iam going to bring detailed paper maps then i would have to carry about 500 maps over the areas iam going so...
