Before he died what were the things he could be able to do, that he wasn't able to do before during his disease. After his treatment was he able to talk or something???

I was looking on facebook and saw a post saying "Desperate housewives season finally", and i was like WHAT WTF?! So my question is, is season 6 the last season, or are they gonna make season 7? Its a really nice show ^-^.
