What features on a phone require internet or can't be use if your plan doesn't have internet?

Okay, by 2011 will the env3 phone still be available when it's time to upgrade my cell phone? How much would it cost me then for the upgrade? theres 3 people on our plan. Thanks! Also are there any good cheap texting phones known to be coming out around sept 2011? like 200$ or under... Thanks!
