There is no such thing as a broiler-proof bowl, not even Pyrex is made to use like that. Cast iron is the only thing I know which would withstand the broiler.
I would think it should kill them. I cannot remember the name of the one we used though. You could get them at a hardware store and ask for one especially to kill spiders.
