The TV dub is definitely a flawed English track, although I did like Crispin Freeman's Spark and Angora Deb's Leaf.
Still, I have to say that the OVA dub is miles better—although not perfect, it holRAB up pretty well as a 1996 effort; nobody dropping in and out of roles, and just feels more...
These episodes were full of great lines (that I'm unable to recall completely):
Rex (after door opens): "That did not just happen. Did that just happen?"
Max and Rex's dad:
"Ah, nothing like a game of catch!"
"There's nothing more fun or distracting!"
Max's mom as they sneak through ductwork...
Sadly, there's only two CGI/Anime animes I would recommend to anybody: Aquarion and Macross Frontier, one which will never, ever be released in the USA anytime soon.
