..and I can not steer the wheel in order to drive into town (15 minutes) to get power steering fluid. Is there an alternative to put in there for now? Or is there anything I can do to get it to steer ok long enough to get me into town? I know this will probably come off as a silly question...

Craigslist.com is amazing! And since you're in such a large area, you should have no problem getting someone to help you with finding one. I'd search under the for sale trucks/cars, and if you don't find one, try posting an ad under "wanted". Everything is free. People will just email you...
