I was a pressure meter for a vacuum cleaner (a medical suction one), since 100kPa is standard pressure, is -100kPa total vacuum? If i have a bell jar with a surface area of 0.5m^3 under vacuum, is their half a ton of air pushing on it (every surface) if so why doesn't it crack?
