    A newborn infant is slapped on his/her bare back to help the child cough up

    amniotic fluid...? ...swallowed during the birth, but the child is screaming in pain and full of marks from the nurse's hand. Isn't this child abuse? Pneumonia patients get a similar treatment but not on their bare backs. Anyone have this experience with their newborn?
