I feel as though the careers that do involve these two subjects are not really viable for someone who is just average at math(even though I love it). Am I right?

you don't have to do sports but it is recommended that you join as many clubs as possible. universities look to see how involved you are so no sports isn't the only gym HOWEVER you will have to take one year of phys ed.
